Comments: Guide for Training

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how pleased we are with the new curriculum Literacy Volunteers of New Jersey has offered.  In my opinion, this is one of the best investments this organization had made during my tenure. I found it concise, well organized, professional, well written, and user friendly. It keeps all of the tried and true techniques that we love about Literacy Volunteers intact. Your curriculum just organizes it in such a fashion that the volunteer trainee understands more easily.

- Program Director, Literacy Volunteers of Eastern Connecticut

Tutors and students alike come to our program with a wealth of knowledge. This training model makes it clear to volunteers that adult learners can build on their existing skills in listening, speaking, reading or writing while being tutored to speak English or read for the first time. Rather than feeling uncertain, this sequential training model gives new volunteers the assurance that, ‘I can tutor!’”
